The Capital Urology Centre is located in the John James Medical Centre in Deakin, Canberra. The practice has a 30 year long history of providing urological assessment and surgical services to the Canberra community. In 2015, Dr Muhammad Kahloon joined the practice bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge that has complemented the care previously offered.
In addition to general urological services, Dr Kahloon is fully accredited and trained in the use of the Da Vinci robot. Robotic surgery is being used more frequently in a vast array of surgical procedures across many specialities. In urology, minimally invasive robotic surgery is most commonly used to perform radical prostatectomies and complex kidney surgery. Dr Kahloon performs his robotic procedures at the National Capital Private Hospital in Canberra.
In 2021, Dr Daniel Gilbourd joined the Capital Urology Centre. Dr Gilbourd has an interest in Endourologic Surgery including treatment of bladder outlet obstruction and lower urinary tract symptoms, and urinary tract stones including complex anatomy and staghorn calculi. Minimally Invasive Surgery (Laparoscopic or Robotic) including radical and partial nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, and radical prostatectomy. Treatment of voiding dysfunction including idiopathic and neurogenic detrusor overactivity, and intravesical Botox instillation.
