Haematuria

Blood in the urine is called haematuria.  Sometimes it is completely obvious and at other times it may only be detected under the microscope.  Blood in the urine should always be taken seriously.  Sometimes blood in the urine is due to a non-serious condition, however, it should be investigated as it may be due to a physical problem with the urinary tract, including stones, cancer of the kidney, bladder or prostate gland.
